El monasterio de Santa Teresa de Jesús de Ávila conserva un rico patrimonio artístico y arquitectónico. Desde el vestíbulo con el Cristo de la Pasión de la Escuela Quiteña se accede al claustro principal, rodeado de arquerías, junto al claustro del noviciado, la huerta y la antigua casa de vivienda. Destaca también el tríptico de la Virgen del Carmen, con imágenes de arcángeles, santos y santa Teresita de Jesús.
El convento resguarda salas y obras dedicadas a figuras emblemáticas como santa Marianita de Jesús y santa Teresa de Ávila. Entre sus espacios se encuentran el refectorio con piezas del siglo XVII, murales del XVIII y el coro alto, que fue celda de Marianita. Este conjunto artístico y devocional refleja la profunda espiritualidad y herencia cultural del convento.
The Monastery of Saint Teresa of Jesus of Ávila preserves a rich artistic and architectural heritage. From the vestibule with the Christ of the Passion from the Quito School, one enters the main cloister, surrounded by arcades, next to the novitiate cloister, the orchard, and the former residential building. Also noteworthy is the triptych of the Virgin of Carmen, with images of archangels, saints, and Saint Therese of Jesus.
The convent houses rooms and works dedicated to emblematic figures such as Saint Marianita of Jesus and Saint Teresa of Ávila. Among its spaces are the refectory with 17th-century pieces, 18th-century murals, and the upper choir, which was Marianita’s cell. This artistic and devotional ensemble reflects the convent’s profound spirituality and cultural heritage.
